Description
Bayou DeSiard originally formed the lower end of a historical channel of the Arkansas River, which flowed through what is now Bayou Bartholomew. It is now impounded at its confluence with the Ouachita River by a levee and where it diverted from Bayou Bartholomew (now Bartholomew Lake) by an earthen dam. Bayou DeSiard receives inflows from Bartholomew Lake and Black Bayou Lake through control structures and naturally from Mill Bayou, an intermittent tributary near Fairbanks.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
